Overseers are selected by individual congregations (usually by the pastor and leadership team) and approved by the CMC Executive Board. An overseer usually serves for a term of three, four, or five years with the term being renewable. Overseers assist the congregation in giving vision, serving as a pastor to the pastor, and helping the congregation connect in meaningful healthy ways within itself and with the conference.
